In the early hours of Wednesday 14 June 2017, a fire broke out on the fourth floor of the 24 storey Grenfell public housing block in North Kensington and Chelsea. What began as a fire
from a fridge freezer occurring in a fourth floor flat in the north-east corner resulted in a catastrophic inferno, leading one of the biggest disasters in British building history. This disaster has sparked great public debate and many questions into the current state of the
construction industry. A public inquiry is currently undergoing and a long a complex investigation is being made into the factors that led to the eventual disaster.

This 380 page document intends to expose the technical, administrative and systematic failures behind the Grenfell Tower refurbishment programme, and how such failures subsequently led to the deaths of over 70 people. The intention of the document is to provide clear guidance for the ongoing inquiry, as well as to raise awareness within the construction industry, government and wider public of the catastrophic outcomes that such failures have and to prevent such a disaster from happening again.
