The involvement of the design of a large scale housing and office complex as part of a design competition for the regeneration of the Värtahamnen area in Stockholm by BAU Arkitekter.
The design attempts to create a symbiosis of office, housing, old and new while bringing life into a currently industrial area. The building's regular form respects the rational architecture of the existing office building, while opening out into the south street Hangövägen.
South facing terraces create natural daylight and recreational space while inviting courtyards attempt to create an open dialogue between building and street. The competition was hosted by Stockholm Stad and the client was NIAM, a large equity real estate company.
All work shown was produced as part of a design team and remains property of BAU Arkitekter AB and all other relevant parties.
